Sitefinity CMS Development

Sitefinity development for enterprise and government, built secure and built to last.

We've designed, upgraded, migrated, and secured Telerik Sitefinity platforms for some of Singapore's most demanding organisations, from national infrastructure to universities. New builds, version upgrades off end-of-life, and high-availability migrations, delivered by a team that has run Sitefinity in production for years.

The Problem

Where Sitefinity Platforms Break Down

Sitefinity is a capable enterprise CMS. Most of the pain organisations feel with it has nothing to do with the platform and everything to do with who's running it.

01

Stuck on an end-of-life version.

You're several major versions behind, on a Sitefinity release that no longer gets security updates, sitting on an old .NET framework and an ageing server OS. Every month you wait, the upgrade gets harder and the exposure grows. The team that built it is long gone, and no one wants to touch it.

02

Uptime and security you can't actually rely on.

The site goes down and no one knows why. Content gets lost between staging and production. A vulnerability assessment comes back with findings and there's no clear owner to fix them. For an enterprise or government site, that isn't a technical annoyance, it's a reputational and compliance risk.

03

A developer who knows the CMS but not the consequences.

Plenty of shops can write Sitefinity code. Far fewer build it on a high-availability architecture, lock down the production environment, pass a third-party penetration test, and hand a marketing team a CMS they can actually edit without breaking. Generic .NET capability isn't the same as Sitefinity in production.

SGNIC — A Sitefinity Platform That Cannot Go Down

Challenge

SGNIC's site sat on an outdated Sitefinity 8 build with known vulnerabilities, poor uptime, and content that kept getting lost in production — all on an ageing server OS. For a national internet-registry platform, downtime and security gaps aren't an inconvenience, they're a public-trust problem.

Approach

We re-architected the platform on Azure with an active-active high-availability setup, upgraded through Sitefinity 13 to 14.4 LTS on a current .NET framework, and replaced the fragile content-sync method with Sitefinity SiteSync, locking down production so it could be reached only through controlled deployment. Then we kept it running: monthly security patching and annual third-party VAPT with remediation.

Result

99.995% uptime delivered for four-plus years. SGNIC re-appointed us for a second three-year term in 2024.

Duke-NUS — One Sitefinity Platform, Thirty-Plus Sub-Sites

Challenge

Duke-NUS needed a rebuilt main website and a way to spin up many sub-sites consistently, without a custom build every time, and keep the whole estate stable as the organisation grew.

Approach

We rebuilt the Duke-NUS main website on Sitefinity and delivered a reusable component and template system that let the team stand up 30-plus sub-sites with consistent design and structure. We populated 100-plus content pages so non-technical editors could meet tight academic timelines, then stayed on for ongoing maintenance.

Result

A single Sitefinity platform powering 30-plus sub-sites, stable through years of organisational change, with each new project faster than the last because the system was built to extend.

NUS Giving — A Sitefinity Rebuild That Lifted Donations 45%

Challenge

A donation site with a rigid, compartmentalised layout and a customer journey that made giving harder than it should be, on a Sitefinity back-end integrated with payment processing.

Approach

A full redesign on Sitefinity with a fresh visual identity, a navigation and journey optimised to drive donations, and clear calls to action, with the CMS integrated to the payment back-end so the giving flow worked end to end.

Result

A 45% increase in donation amount after launch, on a platform the team can keep evolving with regular content updates.

LKYSPP — Optimising a Sitefinity Estate and Building the Giving Sub-Site

Challenge

The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy runs a large Sitefinity estate of 10-plus sub-sites. It needed to be faster and more visible in search, and the school needed a new Giving sub-site stood up on the same platform without disrupting the rest.

Approach

We took on SEO and site-speed performance optimisation across the Sitefinity platform, and built the new LKYSPP Giving sub-site on the existing component system so it matched the estate and could be maintained the same way.

Result

Load time on the worst-affected key pages cut from over 3 minutes to under 5 seconds, alongside a 25% lift in Google PageSpeed Insights scores across the estate. A new Giving sub-site delivered on the same platform — one team handling both the optimisation and the build.

Why Construct Digital

Why Construct Digital for Sitefinity

Sitefinity developers aren't rare. Teams that have run Sitefinity in production for national infrastructure and universities, through upgrades, migrations, and annual penetration tests, are.

Sitefinity in production, not just in theory

Sitefinity in Production, Not Just in Theory

We've built, upgraded, migrated, and maintained Sitefinity platforms for SGNIC, Duke-NUS, NUS Giving, and more, since 2021. Senior Sitefinity developers and a technical architect who has delivered 200-plus penetration tests across government and higher education. This is a standing capability, not a one-off project skill.

Upgrades and migrations are our home ground

Upgrades and Migrations Are Our Home Ground

End-of-life Sitefinity, old .NET, ageing servers, fragile content sync — we've untangled all of it. SGNIC went from Sitefinity 8 to 14.4 LTS on a high-availability Azure architecture. We move you onto a current, supported, secure footing without losing content or uptime in the process.

Security and high availability by design

Security and High Availability by Design

OWASP-aligned reviews, static analysis, locked-down production, VAPT-gated releases with zero critical vulnerabilities shipped, and active-active HA where the site cannot go down. For government and enterprise, this is the difference between a build and a build you can put your name to.

A CMS your marketing team can actually run

A CMS Your Marketing Team Can Actually Run

We build with reusable, editable components and train your team to use them, so non-technical editors create and update pages without breaking templates or calling a developer. Duke-NUS stood up 30-plus sub-sites on the system we gave them. Operable by marketing is a design goal, not an accident.

You pay for the thinking. The production runs AI-native.

You Pay for the Thinking. The Production Runs AI-Native.

Sitefinity build, upgrade, and maintenance work is where AI-assisted development compresses time most. We bank that as capacity, not markup, so more of your budget goes to architecture and security judgement and less to repetitive build hours — without a per-hour premium as the work scales.

Built to last, then kept that way

Built to Last, Then Kept That Way

We don't build and disappear. Sitefinity platforms we deliver transition into ongoing care: monthly patching, annual VAPT, version currency. The reason SGNIC's site has held 99.995% uptime for four-plus years is that the same team that built it still runs it.

How We Work

Three Ways Into a Sitefinity Engagement

Most Sitefinity work starts in one of three places. We scope the right entry in a short technical conversation — no generic proposal template.

Build a new Sitefinity site

Build a New Sitefinity Site

A fresh enterprise build on Sitefinity, with the architecture, security, and reusable component system designed in from the start. Right when you've chosen Sitefinity (or need help confirming it's the right fit) and want it built properly the first time. Rebuilding from the brand up, not just the platform? That's our COMPASS Brand + Build product — strategy and site together.

01
Upgrade or migrate an existing one

Upgrade or Migrate an Existing One

Stuck on an old version or an unstable platform? We bring you onto a current LTS release and a secure, high-availability footing, moving content safely. This is our most common Sitefinity engagement, and our strongest track record.

02
Take over and stabilise

Take Over and Stabilise

Inherited a Sitefinity site nobody wants to touch? We onboard it, fix the open risks, and put it on a maintained footing — then keep it healthy through WebCare.

03

Sitefinity is one platform we build on. For the full picture of how we approach web design and development across platforms, see Web Design & Development. Pricing is scoped to your platform state and the work involved — we'll size it in a short technical conversation.

Got Questions

Sitefinity CMS FAQs

01 What is Sitefinity, and is it the right CMS for us? remove

Sitefinity (by Progress, formerly Telerik Sitefinity) is an enterprise .NET content management system, strong for organisations that need structured content, multi-site management, and enterprise security. It's a good fit for government, universities, and large enterprises. We can confirm whether it's right for your needs before you commit to it.

02 Can you upgrade our old Sitefinity version? add

Yes, this is one of the things we do most. We've taken platforms from Sitefinity 8 through to 14.4 LTS on a current .NET framework, including the server OS and architecture work that goes with it. The longer you wait, the harder it gets — so the sooner the better.

03 Can you take over a Sitefinity site another agency built? add

Yes. We onboard inherited Sitefinity sites, inventory the platform and its risks, fix what needs fixing, and put it on a maintained, secure footing. You don't need to have built it with us.

04 How do you handle Sitefinity security? add

Security is designed in: OWASP-aligned secure coding, static analysis, locked-down production deployment, and third-party VAPT with remediation before go-live. After launch, monthly patching and annual VAPT keep it secure. We've shipped zero critical vulnerabilities to production across years of VAPT-gated releases.

05 Will our marketing team be able to manage the site? add

Yes. We build with reusable, editable components and train your team to use them, so non-technical editors can create and update pages without developer help. Duke-NUS built 30-plus sub-sites on the component system we delivered.

06 Do you maintain Sitefinity sites after launch? add

Yes. Sitefinity platforms we build transition into ongoing care through WebCare: monthly patching, annual VAPT, version currency, and support. SGNIC's site has held 99.995% uptime for four-plus years because the team that built it still runs it.
